Tech Camp is Taking Over!

Tech Camp: Engineering and RoboticsWhen you think of camp, you probably can’t help but think about trees, sports, outdoor adventures, climbing, hiking and those types of activities. These are all great activities if you are the type of person who likes to participate in them. For those fascinated by technology, the woods aren’t the place where you are going to improve your coding skills. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a place where students could meet people from all over the world, brush up on skills that will advance their knowledge of technology , all while being exposed to fresh air, blue skies and the warmth of the sun?

In 2015, that is a real possibility. In a recent article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Jenny Walkowitz commented that “when a child asks to go to a tech camp, parents might conjure up an image of their child sitting in front of a screen all day with little else to keep him or her busy. However, most tech camps incorporate outside recreational time, as well as evening activities unrelated to the technology.”

There is no denying that the future of our world lies in the tech sector, so why not start focusing on these skills from an early age? At JKCP, we are taking tech to another level this year. In addition to Engineering & Robotics, Graphic Tee Design, Film and Digital Photography – classes that we have successfully run for years now, we are opening two brand new courses designed to give JKCP students an advantage in the tech world. 3D Modeling & Printing as well as Intro to Coding & App Development are cutting edge, state-of-the-art courses that will teach students the necessary skills in these two fields.

One thing we have never wavered on is fun! If it isn’t fun, we don’t do it! In addition to the incredible, hands on experience of our tech classes, we offer evening programs, weekend trips and much more to create one of the most incredible, tangible, international experiences a kid can have!
