How Do You Discover Your Inborn Talents and Abilities?

Posted by The Discover Your Talent Program on Nov 21, 2019 9:06:26 AM

Unlike other personal development tests you may have experienced, the Highlands Ability BatteryTM is a unique online assessment capable of uncovering a person’s inherent, natural abilities.

A comprehensive series of interactive, virtual work samples will give you an objective, in-depth report of what you are naturally good at—not just what you want to do or what you think you should do, but what comes naturally to you.

The Highlands Ability Battery is unique because it measures your inborn abilities or talents based on performance rather than perception.

This information can:

  • Provide practical insights for improving your overall performance in school right now.
  • Help you pick the specific university or college and the academic major that will also align with your goals and dreams.
  • Help you assess occupations or professions that require specific ability patterns that are in sync with yours.
  • Explain how to better interact and communicate with other students and adults.
  • And much more.

How Does the Highlands Ability Battery Work?

The Highlands Ability Battery (HAB) is the gold standard in education and career planning assessments because it measures your inborn abilities based on performance rather than perception.

The HAB is a three-and-a-half-hour, objective, on-line measurement of one’s natural talents and abilities that is administered on your computer. Don’t worry, you do not have to take it all at one sitting!

There are 19 sections to the HAB. You can stop and save your results after any section, and then pick up where you left off later. We highly recommend, however, that you complete the test within a couple of days.

The HAB is made up of a series of “work samples” that seem more like puzzles or games. They are designed to measure how quickly you innately solve particular problems or tasks that are essential to certain professions or job roles and responsibilities.

Since 1992, the HAB has been used by over 50,000 people to jump-start their education and career plans to the next level. It is based on almost a century of research and continuous validation.

Now You Have the Same Opportunity.

But does it matter if you know what your natural abilities are? Can’t everyone learn skills and improve their job performance regardless?

There’s no question that we can all improve in different areas and acquire skills. But it takes a tremendous amount of effort to do something well for which you are not naturally suited.

You will achieve fewer results and far less satisfaction doing work that doesn’t align with your natural talents and abilities. For individuals, this means longer, more frustrating hours with fewer rewards; for organizations, this means falling short of attaining maximum productivity.

Categories of Natural Abilities

  • Personal Style dimensions are predictive of behavior patterns.
  • Driving Abilities power everything that you do.
  • Specialized Abilities influence how you take in information.

There’s no inherent benefit to one ability over another—it’s knowing where your strengths lie that gives you the advantage. That’s how you can discover your real source of creativity and energy.
