Spring is in the air and summer is coming soon. Now is the time to get serious about planning for the camp/summer program season. In previous posts, we have covered choosing your program, how to register and what to think about through the winter to stay on top of your to-do list. Don’t let that to-do list get any longer! To get caught up, feel free to take a look at the links in this paragraph to get up to speed. Here is what you should be thinking about in April:
- Firm Up Summer Plans: By this point, you should know what your kids are doing this summer. If not, there is no need to worry. Plenty of summer programs offer weekly options, which are still available.
- Choose Your Classes: Many programs offer choices of classes or electives. Sign up for those classes prior to arriving. If you aren’t sure about classes or what to take, call your camp or summer program.
- Arrival Information: April is the month where forms that need to be filled out before summer starts are sent your way. From transportation to health forms, permission slips to activity waivers and beyond, you should be receiving an A-Z list of the “need-to-know” items when planning for the summer. Make sure to fill these out in a timely manner and send them back to the appropriate person.
In May, we will start to talk about packing and preparing to leave for camp. But for now, let’s focus on tying up those loose ends and making sure all of the important paperwork is out of the way. If you can do that, it is full steam ahead as the warm weather approaches. See you next month!
