Get To Know Your Pro - Devi

You may see the JKST pros on the court, in a lesson, or walk past them in the lobby. To get to know each pro a little better and personally, we put together a "Get To Know Your Pro" series.

  • Who is your favorite tennis player?

My favorite tennis player that is currently on tour is Roger Federer. I just think he is very classy and makes tennis look effortless, which of course it is not. Growing up, my favorite player to watch was Justine Henin. She was just really feisty and she is also vertically challenged, as am I, so that was nice to have a role model.

  • When did you start playing tennis?

I started playing tennis when I was three years old. My dad was my coach, which was really fun, but challenging at times. He would take me out for ice cream after we would play so if we had any fight that was okay.

  • What is your favorite athletic brand?

My favorite brand of tennis clothing is Adidas. I have just always liked it.

  • What is your favorite thing about coaching tennis?

My favorite thing about coaching tennis is that moment when someone finally gets a concept and it just clicks and starts working and they understand it and see the progress. The look on their face is totally what I do it for.

  • What is your favorite color?

My favorite color is turquoise like the ocean in the Bahamas.

  • What is your favorite food court restaurant?

Favorite food court food at the mall would have to be Chipotle. It is always good and fills you up.

  • What is the last fun thing you did?

Over the holiday break I went to Longwood Gardens with my mom and some friends. It was really beautiful and I loved it.
