In the Julian Krinsky International Affairs: Leadership & Model UN program, we are constantly updating our curriculum to meet the needs of an ever-changing global atmosphere. Last summer, students took a trip to Twitter headquarters in New York City to learn about the role that social media plays in the international landscape. This year, we are excited to announce that in addition to our already incredible summer curriculum, Congressman Brendan Boyle (PA-13) will be joining us for a visit as a guest lecturer.
Brendan F. Boyle was born and raised in the Olney neighborhood of Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District. As the son of a janitor and school crossing guard, Congressman Boyle was the first in his family to attend college. He went to the University of Notre Dame on an academic scholarship, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Government and completed the Hesburgh Program in Public Service. Congressman Boyle later attended graduate school at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He graduated from Harvard in 2005, earning a master's degree in Public Policy. Congressman Boyle serves a committee member on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, which will be the primary focus of his day with our program.
I am sharing this with you because we have recently extended the application deadline for this incredible program to May 15th and hope that you will consider joining us at Penn this summer. If you have any questions about International Affairs: Leadership & Model UN, please email Brett today!
